Brandýs n.L.-Stará Boleslav

One river, two historic cities on both banks under one administration. Brandýs nad Labem and Stará Boleslav. On one side of the river, the literary family of the Petiška family, the poetry of Helena Sinecka, Petr Kukal, the distinctive trace of the Jára Cimrman Theatre in the persons of Petr Brukner, Ladislav Smoljak or František Petišek, or the popular writer Stanislav Rudolf. On the other side of the river, the legacy of St. Wenceslas, the Palladium of the Czech Lands, the poetry of Jarmila Stojcevska, the memoirs of Antonín Líman and Emil Zátopek. And the song Kolej Yesterday, which is based on the memories of the poet Luboš Pospíšil of his studies in Stará Boleslav.


The Poesiomat was officially unveiled by representatives of the town together with the Central Bohemian Governor Petra Pecková. The patrons of the Poesiomat were Mr. and Mrs. Brukner. The Eduard Petiška Library, represented by its director Věra Krajíčková, also contributed significantly to the creation of the dramaturgy. Poesiomat was realized thanks to the support of the city of Brandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav.
