Křivoklátsko

Křivoklátsko. A region inseparably linked to the life and work of Ota Pavel, who spent and captured in his writing the most beautiful years of his life by the Berounka River. A region exceptional for its natural environment and biodiversity, where forestry has maintained an uninterrupted tradition spanning nearly a thousand years.

At the end of November, our Poesiomat was installed on the summit of Krušná hora, near the Máminka lookout tower, in the very heart of Křivoklátsko. It offers listeners, among other things, short stories by Ota Pavel set in the forests of Křivoklátsko, poems by František Branislav, a native of Beroun, children’s rhymes and songs with forest themes, educational quizzes about local wildlife narrated by presenter Vladimír Kořen, as well as a recipe for wild boar goulash by renowned chef Roman Paulus.

The Křivoklátsko Poesiomat was made possible thanks to the financial support of Forests of the Czech Republic. The honorary patron of the Poesiomat is actor Tomáš Hanák, who has long lived in the Křivoklátsko region and runs an excursion railway-station restaurant in nearby Nižbor.
