Lovosice

Lovosice. A charming town on the Elbe River, watched over by the majestic Lovoš hill. And a town loooooong like... Lovosice.

The Poesiomat located on Wenceslas Square in Lovosice offers a colorful array of recordings. Legends and stories from Lovosice’s history, songs by the local band Šavlozubý ponožky (“Saber-toothed Socks”) and jazz musician Jiří Kudrman, poems about Lovoš, a recipe for the “maxitatranka” (a mega wafer treat), or a humorous tale suggesting that the mythical forefather Čech didn’t actually climb Mount Říp, but rather Lovoš.

In addition to stories connected to the town, the poetic talking machine also features authentic sounds from a local beetle habitat and the anthem of the beloved top-league handball club Lovci Lovosice.

The creation of the Lovosice Poesiomat was made possible thanks to the support of the town of Lovosice.
