Pacov

The second Poesiomat in the series focusing on the Vysočina Region was installed in Pacov's Castle Park.

The central theme is the work and legacy of Antonín Sova, a famous native of Pacov. As well as featuring his famous poems, such as 'Kdo vám tak zcuchal tmavé vlasy' and 'Krajina českomoravského pohoří', the Poesiomat will also take a look at his life through the eyes of the critic F. X. Šalda. As well as covering the life of the poetic giant Sova, the Poesiomat will also highlight key moments in the town’s history. Listeners can look forward to hearing the dramatic story of the painter Jan Autengruber, Nelly Guttmann's recollections of Pacov before the war, tales of old mills, and the fascinating history of the legendary Pacov Motorcycle Circuit. The programme also features the local legend of 'Čeřenova branka' and an audio collage capturing the hustle and bustle of the town.

Musical tracks feature a live performance by Marta Töpferová at Pacov's music festival Poledník, a clarinet quartet from the local music school and recordings by the Sluníčko and Slavík choirs. The playlist concludes with legendary guitar virtuoso Radim Hladík’s recollection of his first performance in Pacov.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the director of the Antonín Sova Municipal Museum in Pacov, Mr Vlastimil Simota, and to everyone who contributed to this project, from its preparation to the installation itself.
